Free Artist Talk on Saturday 6 September at 11.30am
Conceived during Jason’s artist residency in the wild and evocative landscape of Co Kerry last December, Project Cill Rialaig Revisited presents a breathtaking series of fifteen etchings. These works capture the raw beauty and atmospheric drama of the Atlantic coastline, from Hog’s Head to Doulas Head, and the Skelligs rising on the horizon. Alongside these etchings, we are also exhibiting alternative printings from the same etching plates alongside Jason's exquisite watercolour studies—painted during his wind-swept walks and back in the stone cottage where he stayed for the week.
This showcase marks Jason’s third residency at Cill Rialaig, and the works in this exhibition are infused with the solitude, elemental beauty, and creative energy of that special place that continues to draw Jason back.

The project began in 1991 to restore and rescue a small pre-famine village on Bolus Head at the end of the Inveragh peninsula in County Kerry, the very edge of Western Europe.
These cottages have become a retreat for artists and writers.
This is Jason's third residency at Cill Rialaig.

Re-visiting Cill Rialaig has resulted in new watercolours along with Fifteen etchings, editioned to ten with black and umber ink on soft white Somerset paper and a small edition of five printed with a mixture of opaque white and metallic silver onto black Colourmount Board,a combination partly inspired by the light of the full moon on Ballingskelligs Bay.
