Grace Hailstone

Grace Hailstone is a printmaker whose work is inspired by experiences, memories and the imagining of places. Working both figuratively and in abstraction, Grace enjoys the process of discovering images through combining exploratory printmaking techniques with intentions or ideas of landscape, with a focus on geological forms and the elements.

Using printmaking techniques including etching, linocut and monoprint, Grace creates images with contrasting lines, shapes and considered introduction of colours and textures. Her aim is to interpret the experience of landscapes, creating images that are  suspended between reality and fiction.

Grace has a first class honours degree in Fine Art and History of Art from Plymouth University, and an MA from the University of London Institute in Paris. She has recently been an artist in residence at Old Jet, Suffolk, and Skagastrond, Iceland. In 2019 Grace was commissioned as the first Bankside Banner Artist for the Globe Theatre in London. She lives and works in South East London.
