Frozen: 

     hovering

              between,

walled gardens,

                  mazes,

                     neither there nor here, 

                                           but.

                                                   from small stones   

                                                                                    I soar.

Leaving behind 

            crumbling brick,

                                   letting concrete slick,

 from my back…

  rico-

        chet-   

               ing, 

                     against

             the 

               black,

    letting nothing 

hold me down, 

or back.

Up and above -

            a thriving world

                                   past, present and 

                                                            future

                blur. 

Broad strokes -

            Long wingspan -

                               against sky,

                                        clouds beside,   

                                                    over sea,

                                                                 towards stars….

                                                                                                       I rise.
