The Commonplace Death of the Moth, by Elen Lewis
I know the unknown
hinge and flex of wing
lurching into flight.
All we cannot see.
Gloomth darkens shade
over gauze-stretched sky,
our moon-lit, night-scent thrum.
It is always dusk.
That turn
this edge
half light
slow shadow
snagging time
falling
into flames
Enough.
I do not know how
to stop trembling,
life flickers by too fast.
Show me how to leave.
