Ross has been thrilling us with his beautiful carborundum prints for over ten years at Eames Fine Art and we have really enjoyed watching his style develop and change. This new suite is a leap forward - the deep carborundum embossed marks are drenched with colour and energy, and we get a real sense that Ross has loved every moment of the time spent making them.
One of Ross's all time favourite artists is Howard Hodgkin, so when he got the chance earlier this year to work with master printmaker Andrew Smith - who worked very closely with Hodgkin printing most of his carborundum prints - he jumped at the opportunity. Ross and Andrew worked together over a number of days on these large and adventurous prints and then later, back at his own studio, Ross continued to make more prints using these new techniques.
Meet the Artist:
Ross will be in the Studio between 2-4pm on Saturday, and 11am and 12.30pm on Sunday.
