Introductory Essay

I love this time of year. It grants us a precious moment to pause and take stock after the frantic run up to Christmas, as a busy programme of shows and promotions reaches its climax. It is also a time to look ahead and ponder the new opportunities that will shape the story of the next twelve months. So, you find us in reflective mood at Eames Fine Art as we have had the chance to (literally) take stock and mine our collection of works in the Studio to invigorate our mission to bring you the very best in printmaking. 

It is a mission we passionately enjoy and the next few pages represent what are, to our minds, some of the most exciting graphic works that you will find anywhere at the moment. It is a wilfully eclectic and decidedly partisan collection and you will encounter many of our favourites here: from the sumptuous colour and texture of Howard Hodgkin and Terry Frost, the lyrical abstraction of Barbara Hepworth and pioneering collographs by Henry Moore, through to the sensual etchings of Anish Kapoor, the vibrant geometry of Victor Vasarely and much more besides. Each of these works has moved us in some way, stopped us in our tracks, induced that tell-tale flutter in the pit of the stomach and brought a smile to the lips. 

Because at Eames Fine Art we are all collectors at heart. We feel the excitement of a new acquisition, the thrill of a new arrival. So, it is our great pleasure to share this excitement with you and we hope that you enjoy exploring this selection. All of us here know how special it is to have these on our walls and it is our express intention to find good homes for them. Our resolution if you will …
